Voices in the Rain

Just another poem/rant on a [temporary- hopefully] phase I’m currently going through:

Loneliness calls
With its dark, cold voice
A dampened dread
Of silent footfalls
Imagination deploys
Upon my empty bed
Grown fears of old
From mysteries, now known
Within cracks of dreams
As the hours unfold
When weary hearts groan
And sting
Touch not the broken whims
Still, in solitude, sing
In dissonance with seeming fate
My face lifted against this rain
Force a smile, believing
This onslaught to abate
And warrant
Some peace amidst this pain…
